Mission

T o provide an authentic gastronomic experience that brings people together through Brazilian cuisine, with warm and innovative service, creating memorable moments while respecting Brazil's traditions and culture.

The T aste of Brazil was founded by Linalva Coelho. It all began in 1996 as Minas Carnes, followed by Banana Brasil, The Court House, and Casa Brasil. After overcoming hardships, including interventions by ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement), Linalva established The T aste of Brazil, delivering the authentic Rodízio barbecue experience and Brazilian homemade cooking.

In 2015, when Weber Silva joined as a partner, the restaurant went through a renovation and expanded its operations to Newark and Hillside, with quality remaining a central pillar.

The restaurant's purpose is to offer an authentic Brazilian culinary experience, promoting a welcoming and high-quality atmosphere, with a special focus on Minas Gerais and Gaucho cuisine.

Locations

Newark

The Newark unit, located at 37 Merchant Street, accommodates up to 150 guests and offers valet parking. Opened in 2018 and renovated in 2019, it delivers a high-standard American steakhouse experience with a Brazilian-inspired cultural decor, including tributes to icons like Ayrton Senna.
During the day, it offers a casual service by the pound, ideal for quick meals. At night, it transforms into a sophisticated setting, with a full Rodízio experience, excellent cuisine, and live music on Wednesdays and Fridays. On weekends, the sophisticated service is maintained all day long. The team of 20 staff members is dedicated to providing exceptional service and a welcoming atmosphere.
The full Rodízio experience includes premium meats roasted on the grill, served directly to the table, accompanied by salads, Farofa, rice, and sauces, ensuring an immersive and personalized experience.

Philadelphia

The Philadelphia unit, located at 6222 Bustleton Ave, accommodates up to 110 guests and employs around 27 staff members. Opened in 2008 and renovated in 2019, it has an informal dining style focused on delivering exceptional quality and service with a simple Rodízio experience and an affordable menu, respecting the tradition of the Brazilian steakhouse. It stands out for its weight-based sales service and "to-go" options, catering to local demand. The unit also offers event services with personalized attendance. With a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere, it is ideal for those looking for a delicious and quick meal, while maintaining quality and a unique experience.

Hillside

The Hillside unit, located at 1259 Liberty Ave, with a capacity for 44 people and approximately 10 employees, was opened in 2017. It adopts an informal service style, with a family-friendly and cozy atmosphere, offering traditional steakhouse services with a special focus on weight-based sales.
The unit also caters to events of various sizes, making it ideal for small gatherings, family celebrations, or corporate events. Committed to quality and service, it provides an authentic Brazilian culinary experience in a welcoming and relaxed environment.
